White Knuckle Drive Summiting MOUNT WASHINGTON and the Old Man fell

Welcome back!!! This time we ventured up #MountWashington in #NewHampshire as well as drove #KancamagusHighway and saw #OldManoftheMountain. The drive up the steep, but narrow, 8 mile road to the summit of Mount Washington (#Agiocochook by some Native Americans) at 6,288.2 ft was fun but yet nerve wracking. The majority of the time, you are but inches from the side of the mountain. There are no guardrails. At the top, it was freezing and very windy. The #Worldrecord wind speed was set there. The summit was shrouded in clouds when we went but it was still a formidable feat. We enjoyed every minute. After getting down the mountain with engine and breaks intact, we drove along the famous Kancamagus Highway that winds along a beautiful river. There are many stops along the way you can enjoy. We took it all the way and then veered off to see the site of Old Man of the Mountain. It was sad to hear it had fallen in 2003, but the tribute to the iconic rock formation has #pillars and a viewfinder that allow everyone from kids to adults to once again imagine the incredible natural formation.
