My goal of these wilderness trail videos is to 1) show reverence for the beauty of the land, and 2) give YOU actionable trail information that can assist you in planning your own hike here.

This was a day-hike in Central Oregon, Three Sisters Wilderness, starting at Obsidian Trailhead and doing the "Grand Loop" to Collier Cone and to Four-In-One Cone and back to the Trailhead. Total distance is around 17 miles. Weather was low of 41 degrees, high of 66 degrees, overcast day. This was hiked on 8/18/2021, trail was completely clear of snow, and there were NO Mosquitoes! On Alltrails this hike is called "Obsidian Trail", however Alltrails has you just do an 11 - 12 mile lollipop loop, in this day-hike I have expanded it to a "Grand Loop" to add Collier Cone and Four-In-One Cone which adds a lot to the hike, I personally wouldn't just do the 11 - 12 mile lollipop loop if you can do more miles. ***ABOUT THE ENDING – despite my best efforts to preserve battery power, my phone died literally just as I arrived to Collier Cone. I missed being able to fully capture the Collier Cone area on video as well as the gorgeous few tenths of a mile through the rest of that volcanic area. I also wasn’t able to record the last several miles of the Grand Loop including Four-In-One Cone and some other volcanic sections. Next time I do the area I will shoot very little in the front half of the Grand Loop to concentrate my efforts on capturing the back half.*** As far as road conditions, it's highway until the turnoff which is gravelly but totally fine, any car should be able to get to this trailhead, in my opinion the road DOES NOT require 4-Wheel Drive. As far as permits, the Obsidian Trailhead DOES require a Recreation.gov permit.
