Taekwondo is one of the world's most internationally practiced martial art. It is also one of the leading arts in competition, being only one of two Asian martial arts to be accepted as an Olympic Event (The other art is Judo).
In this video we will take a quick look at the origin of Taekwondo, more specifically we will take a quick trip back to the early history of Korea and track the roots of the high flying and powerhouse kicking art that it has become today.
With such a detailed past, I was not able to cover all aspects of the history in this video and had to abbreviate much of it. For anyone interested in learning more about the origin of Taekwondo you can find some additional reading below.
