On Monday, July 26, 2021, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point leaders broke ground on the new upcoming P-162 Headquarters building for Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron and Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 2 during a ceremony at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina. MCAS Cherry Point is constructing several new facilities to replace those severely damaged by Hurricane Florence in 2018. U.S. Marine Corps Col. Mikel Huber, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point Cherry Point commanding officer, speaks to an audience during the ground breaking ceremony for the P-162 Headquarters building at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, July 26, 2021. Five projects, valued at more than $149 million, will provide seven facilities across the installation. P-162 is the first of these projects to begin construction and is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2023. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Pfc Noah Braswell)
