Armed Suspect Fleeing Cops Jumps into Oncoming Traffic... Doesn't End Well

37 year-old Juan Miguel Bejar was wanted for a shooting incident that took place on May 2, 2021 and also wanted for assault on a Peace Officer with a vehicle.On June 15, 2021 at 4 p.m. border patrols agent were working routine patrol on I-15 Southbound near Lake Elsinore, California when they spotted Bejars vehicle going south on the interstate. When agents attempted to take the suspect into custody, he got in his vehicle and drove towards the agents and struck 2 border patrol vehicles as he fled the area.

Border patrol requested assistance from the Riverside Sheriff's Department.

He was then spotted in Temecula and a traffic stop was attempted but the suspect refused to yield resulting in a police chase.

While driving northbound on interstate 215 Bejar began to slow down and ultimately stopped the vehicle in the middle of the road, Bejar exited his vehicle and jumped over the center median and jumped into oncoming lane armed with a gun.

Shortly after officers opened fire at Bejar to prevent any grand theft auto or other serious injuries to oncoming traffic.

Officers on scene rendered aid to Bejar on scene while paramedics arrived and was transported to a local hospital, upon arriving at the hospital Bejar had succumbed to his injuries.
