BODYCAM: Drunk Crashes Car Into Canal, Gets Rescued by Indian River Deputies

A woman had to be rescued from her crashed vehicle in Vero Beach.

It happened Friday night in the area of 26th Street and 58th Avenue in Vero Beach.

Two deputies were captured on body cam video removing Irene Manasa, 66, from the vehicle that was on its side in a ditch.

Manasa was not injured but deputies say her blood alcohol level was 0.334, more than four times the legal limit of 0.08.

Manasa was arrested for DUI and booked into the county jail.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office reminds drivers that the 2021 Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over national campaign continues through Sept. 6, Labor Day.
