Leaking Hot Water System in a Cupboard. You See What Happened

Do you have a hot water system in a cupboard? You'd want to know this. Our customer had a leaking hot water system in a cupboard and couldn't turn it off.

In this video, we show you how we dealt with this issue.

We had a job in a school and their #hotwatersystem was installed inside a #cupboard. One of the valves was #leaking, so the water was dripping into the cupboard. They couldn't turn it off, because the isolation #valve was right at the back of the cupboard. If you're not a plumber, it's hard for you to figure out where it was. It's also hard to get to it and replace it. (0:34)

The temperature control valve needs to be serviced every couple of years, and theirs definitely needed replacement with all the calcium build-up on it (0:56).

(1:14) So what we did was taking the whole unit out, replacing it with a new one and making all the valves accessible. You can check out the new set up in the video, with all the tags on the valves so it's easier to find. All the valves are accessible so it's not gonna be hard to service in the future.

So if you have a hot water system installed in a cupboard, make sure you ask your plumber if it's the best practice for the future service and all.
