Arizona Driving Hwy 84 towards Maricopa after a Flash Flood

Arizona in the late summer is the “monsoon season” where the rain is frequent, torrential and usually unpredictable. The problem with Flash Floods in this area is that the ground doesn’t soak up the rain. It can be raining miles away, but near you it’s a beautiful sunny day, the rain seeks the lowest point and it travels quickly. This section of the highway has some wonderful dips in every quarter mile or so, these are natural contours of the land, and natural streams whenever it rains nearby. I thought it would be a great place to go to see what an actual “Flash Flood” was. I’d never seen one before. I’m guessing you never have either, which is why I decided to record and share it with you.
