Anti-Taliban protests in Jalalabad turn deadly

Multiple people were killed and more than a dozen were injured in anti-Taliban protests in the Afghan city of Jalalabad on Wednesday, witnesses said, as the militant group moved to consolidate Islamist rule and Western countries stepped up evacuations of diplomats and civilians.
