For thousands of years acorns have been used by Native people around the globe. In our moden culture and society we tend to think of acorns as being toxic and poisonous to the human body. While it is true acorns carry tannic acid which causes nutritional deficiency problems when consumed in larger amounts, however, when processed correctly acorns are very much edible and nutritious to our well being. In this video Jeff Martin from Primitive Lifeways demonstrates how to process and cook acorns into an edible meal.
