The festival drew criticism from the mainstream media in Quebec, who alleged the gathering of people opposed to COVID measures could lead to a “superspreader” event — despite two other festivals, Lac Mégantic’s Lac en fête festival and Diesel Fest in Montreal, being held over the same weekend. A court order was issued to organizers demanding they respect public health measures, while inspectors visited the property to ensure the event was complying.
