“Make a law, make a business”
~ Old New Jersey Street Saying

The Popsicle Index is the percentage of people in a community who believe a child can leave their home, go to the nearest place to buy a popsicle and come home alone safely.

When I was a little girl, the Popsicle Index was very high. Today it is much lower.

During this time, the Dow Jones Index rose by over 6,000%

Why are the Popsicle Index and the Dow Jones Index at odds?

Cui Bono? Who benefits? Who makes money in the stock market from a falling Popsicle Index?

This is the story of my search for answers to these questions and of my hope for a world that preserves the promise of a rising Popsicle Index for our children and generations yet unborn.
