Stephen Colbert Claims He Was Disinvited From Barack Obama’s Birthday Party.
Following a two-week hiatus, Stephen Colbert returned to the Late Show stage on Monday with disappointing tidings.
“There’s a fourth wave of coronavirus, we just got a global warming red alert for humanity, there are wildfires consuming Northern California and Greece,” Colbert told his audience at the show’s start.
“So naturally, there’s one question on everyone’s mind: Did I go to Barack Obama ’s birthday party?”

The late-night host was referring to Obama’s scaled-back birthday bash on Martha’s Vineyard, the guest list of which was slashed due to rising delta variant coronavirus cases.
“Here’s the thing—a hot ticket is what it was.
But given the whole pandemic thing and the delta variant, a celebrity mosh pit was maybe not the wisest choice.
So Obama decided to scale back the guest list for his party,” Colbert explained.
“He was forced to limit the invites to only his closest Beyonces.
”
