U.S. Marines with Company C., 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment (Reinforced), Marine Rotational Force – Darwin conduct a simulated embassy reinforcement during Exercise Darrandarra at Nhulunbuy, NT, Australia, June 16, 2021. A group of MRF-D Marines role-played as rioters in a foreign nation to realistically simulate what could happen during an embassy reinforcement. Darrandarra, meaning “together,” demonstrates the Marine Corps’ ability to operate with the Australian Defence Force and reinforce embassies and conduct noncombatant evacuation operations in response to crises and contingencies in the Indo-Pacific region.
