As Christians, why can't we all pull together as one?

Many time churches and groups try to have community events to bring people to Christ. Many times the community and other churches wont support them because there is no denomination attached. Why do we need to tie a "Religion" or Denomination" to everything? Why can't we just come together as Christians to spread Gods love?
