Vaccine passports racist?

Racial disparities in vaccination rates remain pronounced. In CA, black and Latino Californians trail behind whites and especially Asians. This is no longer explicable by writing it off as lack of access. And yet, we ignore these disparities, and blithely speak about moving forward with vaccine passports, about effectively barring certain brown and black individuals and communities from our businesses, our homes, our theatres, our communities. White Trump supporters are largely centered in rural areas, where these vax passports are unlikely to take effect. So in big urban areas (which are largely blue and not Trump-based), who do we think we’re discriminating against? And is it acceptable now to tell a black or brown Californian he or she cannot come into your business?
These are serious questions for serious times, and a more serious people would answer them.
