THE LIFE OF JESUS Part 9: Respecting One Another

Jesus said that loving your friends is easy but showing kindness to those who are wicked is difficult and this is the hallmark of being His disciple.

Every human being is created in the image of God and thus we should treat one another kindly. This means respecting those around us instead of trying to dominate and control them. Communities and churches are built upon that premise.

Relationships can be complicated and difficult, so when dealing with a family member, neighbor, co-worker or a random stranger, it is important to remember that you are dealing with someone who has been made in the image of God. You can reject their sinful lifestyle but you should never despise them.

Jesus wants you to be a giver and to treat others the way you want to be treated. Overcome evil with love and always be merciful. There is no reward when you love those who love you, but there will be a reward when you are able to love your enemies in spite of their ill treatment.
