Smoking The Traditional Cigar of Myanmar

When in Rome... you pass the peace pipe.

Aside from mixing idioms, I have a tendency to jump in with both feet to experience as much as possible when I travel.

During a spontaneous village tour outside Bagan with a 13-year-old local girl, I purchased a freshly-made cigar from her family that were rolling them by-hand.

I'm not a cigar-lover anyway, but was highly curious to taste it; it didn't taste too bad either.

After a few puffs I gifted it to the Burmese man standing next to me, who seemed very excited to see the cigar when I brought it out.

It is customary for the older generation (grandparents) to enjoy smoking these handmade cigars and they are truly unique to Myanmar.
