Amputation: How much can you lose & live?

That's the question I asked myself and this is the video I made about the answers I found...

Recently bought a fourth hand car and the door was squeaky and, it turned out, full of leaves. While jamming my hand in and around the door hinge my wife bumped the door and a had visions of losing a hand.

The thought stuck with me and being the partially employed recluse that I am a embarked on a gruesome journey of discovery...first looking at amputations, then learning about Hemicorporectomies and finally discovering the story of the latest (according to Wikipedia) successful example of the extreme surgery.

As I'm doing all this based only what I can find online it was a bit of a challenge to piece all the particulars of the story together even with the first hand account on Loren's YouTube page there were still quite a few blanks to fill...(also NOT including gore was quiet challenging too!)

Anyway, hopefully I did his story some justice and I can help in a small way to give them some more exposure (I say this fully aware that I currently have 0.1% of their subscribers but my intentions are good!)
