I GAVE UP ALCOHOL AFTER A BREAKDOWN AND BEING ARRESTED

How a breakdown and being arrested a few times forced me to make the decision of giving up alcohol

3 years ago I decided to stop drinking and what a journey my life has been on since then

There were two turning points in my life that made me question what I was doing and gave me a big reason to turn remove alcohol

I had a breakdown at a wedding in Cyprus in front of many of my mates from school. I was crying in front of everyone without being able to control it. My anxiety was through the roof.

After this I went on to a mindfulness course and then came accross Deepak Chopra and this is when I started meditation

Although I was starting to notice some improvements I then got myself into more bother. Over the next few months I had been arrested twice, both times I was very drunk and the last incident left me in a Spanish Cell for 40 hours not remembering how I ended up there

I had no control of my life at that point and decided to do something about it

I have up alcohol and since then my whole life has changed

Initially it was a test. Every night out was challenging. I was met with resistance from many. I was called boring, I was told that people who didn’t drink could not be trusted.

My will power was always switched on as so many people try to make me change my mind

I was avoided by some people who struggled to understand why I didn’t drink

I was ashamed and felt awkward telling people and felt like I had to justify my reasons each time

The shift took place from when I started being confident about my decisions and knowing that others are entitled to their oppositions and if there was resistance, it was on them and not me

I remembered my nights

Instead of being in bed all day, I had my weekends

I performed better at work

I have more clarity

I found the conversations I was having more meaningful and interesting

And I saved a lot of money

Being able to say NO confidently is the best feeling and knowing of how much better I feel since removing it from my life.

I also realised That were many others out there who have all stated, that removing alcohol was the catalyst to their successes

If you have had thoughts about reducing or removing alcohol from your life, please do reach out. I have helped many people with this and the changes have been incredible
