Finish The Race Strong - Lisa's Dream

Hi everyone,

My name is Lisa. I am one of the intercessors. I had a dream about a race I wanted to share with you all. But first, I wanted to share the message the Lord put on my heart that goes along with this dream. So in real life, I ran cross country in high school. And we had the world's best coaches, a husband and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Hipwood. They were so positive and so talented in training us as athletes and we were a very good team. Now running doesn’t seem that alluring to me, but I had already tried out for Volleyball and didn't make the team, and frankly, no one was very nice to me. So I was left with Cross Country which I wasn't so sure about. But from day one, everyone had such a positive, "you can do it!" attitude that I just had to stay.

There is only one winner in a race, you would think, but the Hipwoods taught us that that's actually not how a race is scored. It’s a team effort and everybody's position matters. They would teach us that wherever we were in the race, whether in the front or way in the back of the pack, our position mattered, and our goal was to beat the person right in front of us, from the other team. That was our race.

Another thing they and all of the rest of our team would do was run around to different parts of the course and cheer us on with such encouragement like you wouldn't believe.

But also, very importantly, they would stand towards the very end of the race and instruct us when to give it our all, because the finish line was right up ahead.

They would tell us to lengthen our stride and go all out. Now usually we couldn't see the finish line, but our coaches knew that it was there, and we trusted them. So when they told us to dig deep, we gave it our all, knowing that it would all be over soon and that we would be able to rest. And also knowing how proud our coaches and everyone else would be of us. And that's worth more than gold.

So in my dream, I was running a race on a large course that was circular. And in the dream, I wasn't sure if I was going to have to run another lap or not. But I knew that the finish line was close, so I started going all out. There were people in front of me, but I soon passed them. And in the dream, I said to myself, "Lengthen your stride!" And that was the end of the dream.

Now like I said, in the dream, I wasn't sure if I was going to have to run another lap, which to me would mean waiting another year for Jesus' return. But if I didn't have to run another lap, then the finish line was just up ahead, and even though I couldn't see it, I knew it was there. And I started giving it my all because I was almost there.

Let us encourage one another! If the Lord delays, then we thank Him for his mercy over all the lost souls who need more time. But if not, let's finish our races strong. And don't try to do some great accomplishment for Jesus unless He's called you to that, but rather run the race He has given you and let every little thing you do be done in love, for Him, and for others.

This message was totally from the Lord. He started downloading it in my mind while I was mopping of all things. I just knew it was from Him. He's standing at the end of our races cheering us on. Let's make Him proud! He loves us!

And also, I thought it was so cool, a couple of days earlier I was talking to one of our translators and he told me he was having dreams about races and also about hitting home runs in baseball! And I thought that was so cool that the Lord also gave me a dream about a race.

And then I wanted to share with you guys too when I woke up from the dream… So Mother Clare, in the past, has given us messages about not getting distracted by gardening, and things like wasting time on gardening, which were really helpful for me because I think I could waste time and money on gardening. But I found out that I’m actually not a very good gardener. But this year I was like, “Ok this year, I’m just going to plant sunflower seeds because they’re hardy and they won’t take any effort. I can just plant the seeds and leave them alone and see what happens.” And so that’s what I did. BUT…. I planted Mammoth Sunflower Seeds, and they have grown taller than me. They just kept growing and growing and growing. And all this month I was like, “Lord! There’re no blooms on these sunflowers! They just keep growing!” Like, did I plant sunflower seeds? I wasn’t sure. And I’ve just been asking the Lord when they’re going to bloom.

And then when I woke up from this dream and I looked out my kitchen window I saw a little yellow on the top and I was like, “No, Lord. Really?!!” And I went out and looked and there was a sunflower that bloomed, and I was like, “Oh Lord, that’s so precious!” And I felt like that was confirmation of my dream.

And then later that day I was cleaning up some old papers and throwing out stuff and I came across a calendar, but I didn’t know it was a calendar and I just flipped it open. And I opened right to a picture of a big sunflower, and I was like, “Oh that’s so sweet!” So I thought that that was confirmation of my confirmation.
