From the famous typical dishes and delicacies, passing through the traditional and picturesque little towns, the fantastic trails and waterfalls, to the warmth of the bucolic landscapes, Minas Gerais offers itineraries for all tastes.

A survey by the Datafolha Institute pointed Minas Gerais as the best historical destination in Brazil and the best nature destination in 2019. In the same year, Belo Horizonte was awarded the title of Creative City of Gastronomy by Unesco, inserting the state in this select international group composed of 250 scattered cities across all continents.

Minas concentrates, in the country, the largest number of Cultural Heritage of Humanity, a title granted by Unesco. There are four: Historical City of Ouro Preto; Bom Jesus de Matosinhos Sanctuary, in Congonhas; Diamantina Historic Center; and Conjunto Moderno da Pampulha, in Belo Horizonte.

Parks, Ecological Stations, Natural Monuments and Environmental Protection Areas are among the 94 conservation units in Minas Gerais. Together, they guarantee the protection of nearly 2 million hectares in the three existing biomes in the state: Atlantic Forest, Cerrado and Caatinga.
The tourist activity is carried out in 17 natural parks in Minas Gerais.
