Aerial Bombing of Ships - Reel One

In the public domain, this silent US Army Signal Corps movie (Film 1119) from the post World War I era shows the use of aerial attack against ships at sea....in this instance, obsolete battleships. The use of gas, chemicals and high explosives were all evaluated. This is the material that got General Mitchell court-martialed for daring to suggest that the future of warfare was going to swing against the battleships and towards aviation.
