OVERBOARD ON MASKS IN ORIENTAL, NC

Inland Waterway Provision Company

This store is in the quaint, beautiful, little village of Oriental, NC. This business, these employees, or myself in no way represent the majority of small businesses, business owners, or residents in this coastal town. Most businesses are very friendly and welcoming.

I actually avoided Inland Waterway Provision Company for over a year, until I was told by a fellow boater they no longer forced each customer to wear a mask.

I was surprised to find they were still forcing their will on customers. On entering, the female employee yelled at me to wear a mask. I apologized and stated, "I cannot wear a mask. I am exempt."

The female worker said, "You are trespassing."
Ummm, no. That's not how this works.

The worker was so eager to eliminate me from the store that she used the door to help shove me out the front door, which I willingly walked out. That's assault.

Inland Provision mask "policy" is not law and assault is -in fact- illegal.

Btw, Governor Cooper has included mask exemptions in all Executive Orders pertaining to masks. This store is failing to follow Cooper's guidelines.

You are not "trespassing" until a law enforcement officer officially does the formality. Although, had I been formally trespassed I would never return to this store. I hereby trespass myself and will spare LEO the paperwork.

CV cases are not going up in Pamlico County past previous highs. See attached graph of NC DHHS most current data. Click on GRAPH in the video to see weekly CV cases, which appear to be less than 10 total cases for this whole county in which the store is located.

If CV cases *were going up, it is not a retail employees job to force medical devices onto people as they are not Healthcare professionals and should not provide medical advice to patients.

What kind of world do we live in when we slam doors on people and allow incorrect data to ruin our lives with fear ?
