Peacock is the common name for three species of birds in the pheasant family Pavo and Afropavo, pheasants and their allies. Male peacocks are called peacocks and female peacocks are called peacocks, although peacocks of both sexes are often colloquially called "peacocks". [1] The two Asian species are the blue peacock or Indian peacock native to the Indian subcontinent, and the green peacock from Southeast Asia; one African species is the Congo peacock, which is only native to the Congo Basin. Male peacocks are known for their harsh calls and luxurious feathers.
