To begin with, allow me to say, "I'm happy to be BACK!" I've sorely missed putting out videos. I'm glad to be able to return to that pursuit.

That thought having been expressed, I have a question for you. To wit, "Would it be okay if I asked you to walk through a brick wall?"

You may be made of some pretty tough stuff, even so, I'm betting that's a bit much for the average human.

I maintain that my (Level 2, or Moderately) Autistic son, feels like people are asking him to do JUST THAT at times. You may think I'm being dramatic. Let me assure you I'm not.

In his mind, TO THIS DAY on some things, he's largely unable to understand how you can expect certain behaviors or thought processes out of him.

Over time, he's conquered many such issues (sometimes with a HUGE amount of help). That doesn't mean he's over (or maybe EVER WILL BE) all such things.

Where my son is Level 2 Autistic, you may see similar "modes of operation" out of Level 1 (Mildly) AND Level 3 (Severely) Autistic folks.

Sometimes it manifests in something quite comparable to Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. "How can I NOT talk about this or that thing?" comes to mind as an example.

Because of that, Autistic folks can come off "nerdy" and worse yet, be badly misunderstood by those around them. Sometimes the results are ANYTHING BUT pretty.

This is the conversation in today's edition of The Daily Summation from Kurt's Religion and Politics.

I'm not sure when I'll have the time to get back to writing companion articles on the Kurt's Religion and Politics blog, but when I do (and I truly do plan on it), I'll do my best to post links on my videos.
