Transgressions that could disqualify Israel from being the people who would give birth to the Messiah as God had said they would in Isaiah7:14. And that the law given temporarily through Moses would serve God's purpose in keeping the bloodline pure. By keeping Israel from the kind of worship that affected DNA.
