📖 This chapter is about: The sabbath of rest for the land in the seventh year, The jubilee of the fiftieth year, Oppression forbidden, Redemption of the land and houses, Compassion towards the poor, Laws respecting bondmen.

🕯 How does this apply today?: "All bargains ought to be made by this rule, "Ye shall not oppress one another," not take advantage of one another's ignorance or necessity, "but thou shalt fear thy God." The fear of God reigning in the heart, would restrain from doing wrong to our neighbour in word or deed." ~ Matthew Henry Commentary

📖 About the book: The Book of Leviticus is the third book of the Torah and of the Old Testament. Most of its chapters consist of God's speeches to Moses, which God commands Moses to repeat to the Israelites. God ordained divers kinds of oblations and sacrifices, to assure his people of the forgiveness of their offenses, if they offered them in true faith and obedience. Also he appointed the priests and Levites, their apparel, offices, conduct, and portion. He showed what feasts they should observe, and at what times. He declared by these sacrifices and ceremonies, that the reward of sin is death, and that without the blood of Christ, the innocent Lamb of God, there can be no forgiveness of sins.
