At 5.5 months, the front teeth are permanent while the puppy canine tooth (fangs) has not erupted. By 6 months, the permanent canine tooth (fang) is seen, broader than the puppy canine.
As a general rule, the permanent canine tooth is erupted around 6 months of age.
