ON THE POINT 🌅 Punta Arenas Sunday Walk [NARRATED] [2021]

Sunday morning walk through Punta Arenas, which is in the Puntarenas Province of Costa Rica 🇨🇷

→ We're going to start our walk at Calle 33 / Av 1, which is on the west end of the peninsula, and essentially at the tip of the town.

→ Much of this area is still residential, although you'll start seeing a mix of shops and hotels as you get closer to the water. There's a large soccer field at Av. Central / Calle 33.

→ Once we get to Av 4, there's Hotel Las Brisas and Puntarenas Park. Looking out straight south, you'll see the Gulf of Nicoya which opens into the Pacific Ocean. Av. 4 wraps around the tip of the peninsula, and it has many shops and hotels along the road.

→ We'll take a look at Punta Pirata, which has a restaurant and small water park, and El Faro de Puntarenas - the lighthouse. The road then turns into Calle 39 and then Av. 3, as it head back towards town. The water in this town breaks very close to shore, and for much of the distance there is wood and choppiness which wouldn't be great for swimming.

→ There's a ferry that loads/unloads here, and it heads across the Gulf to Naranjo. Although it's a nice trip, the embarking/disembarking takes some time, so if you're heading further north towards Liberia it may be a more easeful and time saving experience to drive.

Travelling in Costa Rica is much easier when you know some conversational Spanish. Many locals will understand English, but it will ease your experience by knowing some basic Spanish in advance. You'll be able to ask better questions and understand signs/shop owners. I recommend using Rosetta Stone before you even leave for your trip, and when you arrive you can refine your conversational skills.
