This is the Love of God - Choose to Love

The love of God is so big and all-encompassing that no single word in any language can fully communicate the revelation of love we find in God's word.

In this message we are going to build a biblical definition of love:
1) with love that takes place in the mind of a person
2) then love that shows itself in actions of a person
3) love that flows back and forth from person to person.

Developing the love of God within us is our top priority. So it is important that we have a good working definition of what the love of God is.

Description:
Developing the love of God is our top priority in this life. So it is important for us to have a good working definition of what the love of God really is. God's love is emotional, it is active, and it is intended to be mutual love that flows back and forth between individuals.

God's love for Israel is a well drawn picture of the godly love in the old testament. Also the covenant love of marriage is another picture we have.
The love of God is also committed. His love is faithful and spoken of as steadfast love.
The love of God is His motive for everything He does.

God's love is seen in action through obedience and through living in the holy spirit. This active love of God is where we find the word agape used. Agape love implies choosing to love.
