WATCH | Mass Looting & Rioting Erupts in South Africa

South Africa has erupted in civil unrest with hundreds of people looting and burning down businesses and malls.

The chaos comes as a result of former President Jacob Zuma's arrest and imprisonment for failing to appear before the constitutional court. The former president was relieved of his duties during his presidency due to allegations of corruption.

Zuma was sentenced to fifteen months and handed himself over on the eleventh hour last Wednesday.

Since then the South African Police Service has been overwhelmed and outnumbered by rioters and looters in most cases with result that they have been able to do nothing to get the situation under control.

Current President, Cyril Ramaphoza has declared a state of emergency and called on the military to assist, all while being in a deadly third-wave of the Corona Virus.
