The horned viper (scientific name: Cerastes cerastes), is a type of reptile that belongs to the genus of horned vipers, in the order Artisans. It is endemic to Africa and parts of the Middle East. The average total length of the body and tail is from 30 to 60 cm. It has prominent eyes and two horns above the eyes, which are yellow, pale gray or reddish-pink. Because of this, their skin color is similar to that of the surrounding soil.
