Koala or, incorrectly, koala bear[ (Phascolarctos cinereus) is an Australian herbivorous marsupial native to Australia. He is the only surviving representative of the Phascolarctidae family and his closest living relatives are the wombats, who are members of the Vombatidae family. The koala is found in coastal areas of eastern and southern parts of the continent, in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. It is easily recognizable by its tail-free body and its large head with round and fluffy ears and a large spoon-shaped nose.
