When anyone who makes up their mind to truly serve the Lord, the enemy stands up and takes notice. It will not take long before he starts hindering the work of a person given over to serve Christ. We are taught in the word that we are "surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses." These witnesses are in heaven now, but their works remain here bearing witness of them. Witness of their common ordinary lives turned into powerful vessels of God in great confrontations with the devil, and displaying acts of power from God that are still shining like the sun.

Anytime there is a great work being done Satan will contest it. He will rise up and do everything he can to defy the Lord in it. All through the Bible from the Garden of Eden until Revelation we see Satan always contending, resisting, attacking and hindering. Doing everything he can to defeat the saints of the Lord. Many have risen up to serve the Lord, and through heavy wars and battles through the decades, they "waxed valiant in the fight." They all have become lion-like people because they see Christ in everything, everywhere, all the time.

Jesus is the Author and Finisher of your faith, and will go with you through your entire life teaching you, and educating you and taking you from strength to strength, from faith to faith, from grace to grace, from glory to glory and ultimately face to face. As William Gurnall said it, "God will place you on the battle field with courage, and He will take you off the battle field with honor."

"God plants His saints in the most useless places. We say, 'God intends me to be here because I am so useful.' Jesus never estimated His life along with the greatest use. God puts His saints where they will bring the most glory to Him, and we are totally incapable of judging where that may be." ~Oswald Chambers
