Caterpillars of this beautiful moth develop from June to August, and have an unusual and even frightening appearance. A fairly large caterpillar, growing up to 100 mm, has a bright green body color, on which club-shaped hairs with thickenings at the tip are evenly distributed. Most often, such an unusual individual can be found on fruit trees, as well as on a walnut. The green caterpillar with blue dots turns brownish before pupation. Other names can be found in reference books - peacock-eye pear or saturnia.
