From the outside a geode looks like an ordinary rock. Except for being kind of roundish there isn't much remarkable or interesting about them. On the inside however They have a wow effect that few rocks or minerals have. How do they get that way?
So, let’s start at the beginning: how do you get a hollow rock with lots of sparkling crystals inside? First you need a hollow rock. Geodes start their lives as a hollow bubble inside a layer of rock. There are two basic types of geode. Those formed from volcanic rock (Igneous) and those formed from sedimentary rock (layered bits of rock, minerals, animal or plant material).
