This week we welcome Stephen Machuga, the founder and CEO of Stack Up. Stack Up helps US and Allied military service members get through combat deployments and recover from traumatic physical and emotional injuries with the power of video gaming. Stack Up utilizes the strength of community to help veterans at home and abroad. Seventy percent of video games are played with others, either in the same room or over the internet. This interaction enhances communication, and leads to greater closeness and intimacy within the group. Steve discusses Stack Up's four main programs; The Stacks, Supply Crates, Air Assaults, and the Stack Up Overwatch Program (StOP). By providing gaming systems to deployed troops, setting up all expenses paid trips for deserving veterans to geek and gaming culture events, or providing 24 hour a day mental health support to the military and veteran community, Stack Up is leading the way to creating a positive environment for our service members and veterans. So whether you are using up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Start to beat Contra, or dropping into the latest edition of Call of Duty...strap into your favorite gaming chair and enjoy this week's episode.
