CHAPTER 020 - THE SISTERS

After a hard decision is made, the travelers leave Pueblo behind with both Mabbi and Alra inside the settlement's walls. While they make their way down the South River road Paul initiates a discussion on liberty.

Both Mabbi and Alra are escorted into the Council chamber where they meet The Sisters of Pueblo. After a short introduction we are told a backstory on how when Baen left his flesh tribute at the gates of the slaver settlement he unwittingly began an epic coup of sorts. The women slowly poison everyone, and when First People raiders attack the settlement the slavers are easy pickings.

After the meeting with the Council is over, both Mabbi and Alra are assigned quarters, along the river at their request, and this is where they make their escape.
