CHAPTER 012 - THE JAZE CLAN

In this chapter we meet the slavers who ran over Monument some twenty five years prior to the events underway surrounding our travelers. They came from the deep south, a city called Galleytown along the Gulf Sea. They were the refugees following a great storm, one which ultimately will pale in comparison to the storm the Agricola party has brought upon them.

Though everyone in the army is bastard, not everyone is completely evil, for some quality of character occasionally shines through. Mabbi the kennel master loathes what is happening in the settlement, and she foresees a bleak future unless things change. We are given a taste of both her sense of humor and humanity as we see events through her eyes.

The boss, a man named Bael wants to know what Paul had in his silver case, and he will do.. anything.. to find out. After Paul has something to say about the situation, all hell breaks loose in the slave mine, and pieces fall in place for their eventual liberation.

Paul is sent to the post for his transgression, and we learn a great secret about the slave alpha, Rico.
