Young Lawyers and Climate Change: Converting Net Zero Ambitions into Net Zero Obligations

As part of London Climate Action Week, this interactive event, alongside the newly launched Net Zero Lawyers Alliance will focus on the critical role that lawyers have to play in facilitating and accelerating the urgent, transformational change necessary to achieve net zero.

Chaired by Paul Barker, Doughty Street Chambers, this session features leading practitioners, Sung-Hyui Park of Bates Wells, Nicola Peart of Three Crowns, also leading academics and practitioners Thom Wetzer from the University of Oxford, director of the Sustainable Law Programme and Professor Marie-Claire Cordonier Segger from the University of Cambridge, Executive Secretary of the Climate Law and Governance Initiative with the UNFCCC CoP26. This diverse group of lawyers and legal experts provide unique vantage points and will offer careers advice that cuts across academia, international disputes, law firm practice, and advising international organizations and parties to the Paris Agreements.
