Around 9:30 pm on August 8, officials in the Metro Patrol Division saw a car parked in an empty, grassy parking lot with no lights on. Police officers watched the car for a few minutes and then tried to stop it. The driver paused and then took off again. As the car ran away, the car occupants fired at police officers from Paseo to 65 and Woodland many times. He was the only police car crew member (from 1:01).

Police officers continued to track the suspect’s vehicle, eventually joining other police officers. The chase ended with Truman and Locust, where police deployed a tactical vehicle intervention (also known as PIT Maneuver) (about 7:56). Officers successfully detained the three suspects. They placed a rifle and two pistols in the suspect’s car.

Police officers have been with KCPD for two years. Fortunately, he wasn’t injured, and there were no suspects or innocent bystanders. - ThisIsButter
