Haenggung Site was designated as Historic Site No. 478 on June 8, 2007. It is the largest and most beautiful place among Korean Haenggungs (where the king stayed outside the palace) and is an accessory to Hwaseong, Suwon. It was constructed in 1796 (20th year of King Jeongjo's reign) at the eastern foot of Paldalsan Mountain, and was used as a government office building in 1789 (13th year of King Jeongjo's reign).
