20210623 Whence Comes Slavery - The Daily Summation

Did you ever ask yourself, "Why did this people group become slaves, but not that one?"

I did, and there are certain conclusions I came to as a result.

The first is, race has PRECIOUS LITTLE TO DO WITH slavery.

I think you can find people in just about EVERY "racial group," that ended up as slaves.

Funny thing? Other than our INTERNAL battle with slavery, I'm not aware of ANY large number of folks in the United States, who were taken as slaves ANYWHERE ELSE.

Why do you suppose that's the case?

Maybe it has something to do with the, "gun behind every blade of grass" idea that's ascribed to this country.

I tend to think that people who REFUSE TO BE TARGETS (will LITERALLY DIE instead), are far less likely to be in positions of servitude or slavery.

I see tendencies in America that scare me a bit these days. Seems we may be seeing a "slowly boiling pot" scenario.

That said, I truly believe, the reason we HAVEN'T tended to fall to servitude, is sheer stubbornness, complete unwillingness, and rugged individualism.

That's what this edition of The Daily Summation from Kurt's Religion and Politics talks about.
