Karega Bailey is an educator, award - winning spoken word poet, motivational speaker and activist. He is founding member of the Roses in Concrete School (Oakland Ca), where he currently serves as the Dean of Students. Bailey is a graduate of Hampton University and has a master of education in special education at George Mason University. Bailey is a member of the soulful music group SOL Development, and the author of several books including SOL Affirmations, and most recently a chapter 8 of Restorative Justice in Education: Building Queens and Kings: The Restructuring of Identity Through Transformative Restorative Justice with co- author Bryan A. Brown.
