Old and New treasures

This parable indicates while we won't be saved by the "old laws," all commandments and laws are important for us because they indicate how we're supposed to be behaving as a Christian. Jesus provided us two new commandments / laws, which may be considered part of the new treasure, but it was part of the old treasure as well. What's different is that with Jesus, there's a path to be with God. The "old treasure" and the "new treasure" (the Royal Law) are something that must be valued by us, as something which enlighten our path to the kingdom of heaven.
