So in 2Kings 1 it was not King Ahab but Ahaziah, Ahab's son who sent a group to seek the god of Baal-zebub(lord of the flies/idols) god of Ekron,a large Philistine city. Elijah by God's instruction stopped the group only to instead have 50 led by a captain inquire of Elijah.
