This is my review of the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x24 gen 2. Information discussed is of my opinion and experience with the optic and reflects my feelings about the optic.

I purchased this scope for my Punisher DMR build. My goal was to find an affordable optic that had both close range and intermediate range capability. In this video I discuss it's overall build quality, range performance and my final overall thoughts.

Timeline:

What's in the box: 1:32
Features and specs: 2:24
Build quality comparison: 6:42
Glass performance : 8:52
Reticle overview: 11:25
Long range performance overview: 14:51
Recommended 223 load for extended ranges: 18:55

Overall value and who I recommend this for: 19:42

Overall I'll give 4 out of 5 stars. The scope build quality and optical performance was on par with the Crossfire ii line of optics so I was somewhat disappointed. However, it did function 100%, maintained zero and was able to make accurate hits out to 600 yards. So it may not be for everyone but it a good scope and should do the trick for most sportsmen. Plinkers, hunters and home defense applications are suitable for this optic. For professional applications I would recommend the Viper PST or Razer line of optics.

Best competitor: Primary Arms 1-6 ACSS
Best value alternative: Athlon Talos BTR 1-4
Recommended upgraded choice: Vortex Viper PST gen 2 1-6
