When Rick wrote this song he was sitting on the bank of the Cumberland River in Dover, TN while the Queen of the Mississippi was moored to the dock. Always being an admirer of Stephen Foster, Rick wanted the song to have a bit of an 1800's traditional feel. Utilizing his Southern charm and country-fried wit, Queen of the Mississip' is a frolicking tune that will definitely get your toes to tapping.
