The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in identifying the man who was captured robbing and assaulting an 84-year-old man in an NYC corner store Wednesday.

According to Crimestoppers, the incident happened Wednesday morning, in the 200 block of East Broadway, on the lower east side at a Bodega. Police say the victim was purchasing a cup of coffee when the suspect approached him and demanded money. When the victim refused, the suspect punched him and fled with the man’s cane.

What’s even more surprising is there were at least two people present who did absolutely nothing to stop the attack. What’s worse is that during the assault, which was captured on video, the victim is pictured, looking around him, as if asking for help. No one helps him as he is punched. One of the onlookers appears to attempt to stop the man as he flees with the victim’s cane.

The NYPD is asking anyone with information to contact them at 1-800-577-TIPS. They are offering a reward of up to $3500 for the arrest.
